How Your Quality of Life Can Improve with Dental Implants

Dental implants are the latest option available for replacing missing teeth. Small, titanium rods, which are surgically placed into your jawbone, are meant to act as the roots of missing teeth, and support false teeth.

Implants are a permanent solution, unlike dentures (which are removable) and offer several benefits that help to improve the quality of your life.

Better Eating
Dentures are best known for slipping out of place frequently while eating, especially when eating harder foods or biting into something large, such as an apple. When your dentures do get dislodged, it can affect your chewing ability. In turn, this affects your nutrition, because you are not starting off the digestion properly.

Implants, however, change all this. The titanium rods fuse to your jawbone and are held firmly in place, acting just like your natural teeth. You can chew without fear of your false teeth falling out, and chew properly.

Better Speech
Much like the issue dentures present with food, they present a similar issue with speaking. Dentures can alter your speech. They may click when you talk. And if they slip out of place, they can really throw off your speech. Implants, which mimic your natural teeth better, won't slip and don't click, helping to restore your speech back to normal.

Helps Your Oral Health

When you lose your teeth, your jawbone begins to reabsorb. When this happens, your jaw changes shape. If you wear dentures, this means that eventually, your original dentures will no longer fit properly and you will have to be fit for a new set (otherwise you face severe denture pain).

Implants imitate the roots of your teeth and stop that bone loss from happening. Your implants will keep your smile young, healthy and you won't have to worry about being fit for new false teeth later on down the line.

More Confidence
Implants are designed to look just like your natural teeth. And they blend seamlessly in with your natural smile. No one will be able to tell that you have them, and you will be able to smile confidently once again.

Dental implants are a great way to restore your smile and your quality of life. Contact our office today to learn more about what they can do for you.
